First Android 4.4.2 firmware for Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 has leaked!!
Yes it’s here folks, a pre-release Samsung Android 4.4.2 ROM was recently leaked by the folks at SamMobile. As promised Samsung is indeed working on the chocoloate flavored Android versions for its supported devices and all indicates that Samsung is in the final stages of their firmware development. The rom brings several improvements along with the fully fledged KitKat goodness to Samsung’s 2013 flagship.
The leaked I9505XXUFNA1 ROM weighs a whopping 1.5GB and is specifically made for the Snapdragon 600 variant (GT-I9505). From the looks of it everything appears to be running without a hitch, except for a few hiccups here and there. SamMobile also reports some minor but noticeable improvements in performance.
Visual changes include the switch to the white styling over the previous greenish text in the status bar. The keyboard in landscape orientation has also been improved and Samsung also implemented a camera shortcut direct on its lockscreen.
We’ve got no clue about the official release but it shall roll out via KIES and OTA next month if Samsung keeps their schedule.
Users can already download & flash the rom with Odin, it’s worth noting that this pre-release version won’t increase the binary counter, neither will it void your warranty. Keep in mind that this is still an early build which may contain bugs so proceed at your own risk. Here are the ROM details:
