If you’ve had your eyes open at some point over the last 24 hours chances are you would have seen Samsung’s new family of Android tablets. On those brand, spankin’ new tablets is a new UI called Magazine UX. Now, there’s rumours floating about, that the soon to be released Galaxy S5 could also be getting a new lick of paint in the way of an overhauled UI.
Twitter user “@evleaks” who has a reputation as a reliable source when it comes to leaks, tweeted three screen shots of an alleged new Samsung TouchWiz UI, saying Samsung is “Exploring a new smartphone UI”.
Old Sammy are yet to confirm or deny these leaks and although we should always take leaks with a pinch of salt these are pretty convincing given the fact Magazine UX just debuted on the Galaxy Tab PRO and Galaxy Note PRO lines and Samsung’s user interface has looked pretty similar for quite a while now and is due an update.
Other major manufacturers like LG and HTC have radically changed their UI in the past few years, with HTC adding BlinkFeed, which condenses all your social media/ news updates into one neat stream and LG having made their software experience into a more stock android looking design. With rumours of Samsung adding an F line of devices and ditching the plastic look they’ve been ridiculed for using in the past, this all new UI could go hand in glove.
As time rolls on I’m sure we’ll see a lot more leaks and rumours giving us more of an in sight into what Samsung has in store for us in 2014.
