Phablets, tablets, we’ve seen them all, from the Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max, Nokia Lumia 1520, OEM’s have been trying to carve in that phablet niche, but Asus has a totally different idea. Introducing the new Asus PadFone X, its almost similar to the previous model launched in September.
The PadFone X is 5-inch 1080P smartphone that docks into a 9-inch tablet with no guts. The tablet body features 1080p resolution and has its own battery, but thats all hardware-wise.
The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat,and under the hood you get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which also powers the Pad as well. Asus PadFone X will be available as an AT&T exclusive in the US. Global plans for the device are yet to be announced. Pricing is yet to be clarified as well.
