CES 2014 has seen the introduction of many devices from different companies, and Asus isn’t going to be left behind (smartphone wise) since you’re probably used to hearing about Asus and tablets. Well,Asus brought out its ZenFone line, consisting of 4,5 and 6 inch devices. These devices have different metallic colours and slightly vary in specs.
First inline is the Zenfone 4,as mentioned above,it’s powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 with 1GB of RAM.For the display, there’s a 4-inch LCD display with an 800 x 480 resolution. You also get a 5 MP shooter with your Zenfone 4 device as well as 4GB storage, microSD,a removable 1170 mAh battery,dual-SIM support,3G with HSPA+, Wi-Fi b/g/n,Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0 too.It comes in a variety of colours from Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red,Sky Blue to Solar Yellow,Pricing is set at $99,not bad huh?
The next Zenfone is the Zenfone 5 that has a 5-inch (obviously) IPS screen with a full 720p resolution, which together with the capacitive sensor lets you use a regular pen as a stylus or use the device with gloves on.Price is set at $149.Underneath the hood is a a 2GHz Intel Atom Z2680 dual-core GPU with 1GB RAM. Other specs are such as an 8 MP camera(F/2.0 lens and PixelMaster low-
light shooting.) ,a 2MP for the front,4 GB storage expandable via MicroSD,Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 2050 mAh battery which happens to be non-removable.It comes in red, black,
white, blue and gold.
The last but not least (seriously its 6 inches) is the ZenFone 6. It has similar specs as the ZenFone 5,but comes in two variants, one with 1 GB RAM and the other with 2 GB RAM (of course we wouldn’t want a device to have too much RAM right?).A 13 MP camera on the back and a bigger 3230mAh battery. Its priced at $199 and will come in the same colour choices as the Zenfone 5.
All Zenfones will feature Asus’s own custom UI known as Zen UI. No LTE either and the release date is yet to be known. But with that kind of pricing, you can expect that these devices will be quite popular.Thoughts? Share them in the comments section below.
