You’ve probably heard about it by now, if you haven’t, the new Ascend Mate 2 has just been announced at CES 2014. Its the successor to the Ascend Mate,and it is pretty awesome.There’s a reason why this device is interesting,as you will later find out.
The Ascend Mate 2,like its predecessor features a 6.1-inch 720p IPS display as well.LTE support is there as well.Huawei also stated that the device will come in two variants,processor wise,one sporting a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcom MSM8928 and another rocking the 1.6GHz
quad-core Huawei HiSilicon Cortex-A9.
Thats basically the major difference between the two,both variants will have up to 2GB of RAM,16GB of internal memory,5MP front camera and a 13 MP for the back camera. All in all,the device weighs in at around 202 grams and will be 9.5mm thick.Android 4.3 coated with Huawei’s Emotion UI (Think Touchwiz,HTC sense) features on the device as well.
Now for the juicy good stuff,the Ascend Mate 2 features a huge battery,4050 mAh to be exact,which Huawei claims can last up to 60 hours.Huawei also says that you can use the Ascend Mate 2 to charge other phones too! Quite cool, Huawei’s Richard Yu demonstrated this on stage by plugging in someones Galaxy note II to drive the point home.As for pricing,Huawei are yet to release the details.Keep it Pocketdroid for more updates on this story.
