Ascend Mate 2 is about to find its way onto the market as the ridiculously huge phablet has been photographed recently alongside its predecessor. The second generation Ascend Mate series handheld is said to feature a similar design, a slightly changed texture and it is a bit thinner. Looks like Huawei went from a mat finish to a more glossy housing, close to what the Galaxy S4 has.
In terms of hardware components, there are some interesting and some disappointing features, like the 13MP camera on the back, this is a good boost, however the similar 6.1-inch 720p HD is a total let down, now that the mobile makers are looking to develop 2K (WQHD) screens for 2014.
Recently, Huawei introduced a couple of low-budget smartphones, the Honor 3X and Honor 3C in China, both sporting similar 720p HD displays.
Other specs include a 1.6Ghz quad-core processor (probably Huawei made), 2GB of rAM, 16GB built-in storage, Android 4.2.2 (another let down) and Emotion UI on top of it.
