New reports coming from Digital Daily a South Korean publication claim that Samsung Electronics has entered mass production of alleged Galaxy S5 5.25″ WQHD (4 times 720p HD screen resolution – 2560×1440) AMOLED displays. This rumour has some potential truth in it, as we’ve recently seen a Samsung device bearing model number SM-G900S with a similar screen resolution in a listing on GFX Bench (a graphics benchmark specialized website).
The same listing, which by the way it has been removed from the site, also revealed that the SM-G900S, presumably the Galaxy S5, feature a 64-bit 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, announced not too long ago by Qualcomm.
Other specs include 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 420 GPU, a 16MP ISOCELL camera, iris scanner (eye-scanning technology), Android 4.4 (build KRT16M) and a plastic housing. Not a metal chassis after all, I guess that’s what the Galaxy F series will feature.
The rumour has it that Samsung might launch the Galaxy S5 unexpectedly early (around CES 2014 or early after) due to Galaxy S4 sales disappointment. While the rumored Galaxy F series metallic phone – Samsung SM-G900F is to be released around Mobile World Congress 2014.
