The HTC One variant for the U.S carrier Verizon is about to receive the last Android Jelly Bean treatment (4.3). It’s certainly not the chocolate flavored KitKat, but Verizon users should at least be able to enjoy some performance improvements brought by this update scheduled to go live during the course of this week.
Verizon has yesterday published its latest round of support documents detailing the official upgrade, finalized as build 2.10.605.1. A notcable addition in this upcoming upgrade is the ability to add your own tracks to Highlights videos in gallery.
The rest is pretty much straight forward as highlights the document, plain bug fixes mostly related to noise fixes while an earphone is connected, minor Mophie Juicepack charging fixes and the option to play purchased ringtones. As usual expect some more preloaded bundled Verizon bloatware along with the minor improvements.
Disgruntled users will probably have to wait a few more months to taste the KitKat flavor of Android. After all, Verizon and U.S carriers in general are renowned for their late updates. It’s the compromise that one must forcefully accept while on contract with a carrier.
