On the Android smartphone segment Asus is well-known for its hybrid devices called PadFone, which is basically a phone at its base, that can easily be transformed into a tablet.

Asus is about to unveil a new generation of PadFone device, one that is a lot smaller than all its previous versions, called PadFone Mini. The Taiwan manufacturer has just sent out invites to the local press, inviting them to an event that will take place on December 11.

The PadFone Mini likely will feature a 4.3 qHD (540×960) screen, a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 processor (Qualcomm MSM8226 chipset) under its small hood, 4G LTE technology on-board, Android 4.3 JellyBean operating system and a tablet dock station for the mini phone, similar to what its older siblings have, but at a smaller scale, only 7-inch and with the Dynamic Display technology to seemlessly switch from phone to tablet and backwards.
