HTC is one of the first manufacturers outside Google Inc (that if we dont count Motorola since its a Google owned company) to upgrade one of its flagship devices to the latest version – Android 4.4 KitKat. Those that own a HTC One Developer Edition are now receiving (in stages) an over the air software update to Android 4.4 with HTC Sense 5.5 UI. The news comes straight from HTC Developers, who made the announcement about an hour ago on Twitter.
HTC One Developer Edition has been released back in mid-April and it has exactly the same hardware specs: Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB of RAM, UltraPixel Camera with HTC Zoe and HTC Blinkfeed.
Owners of a unlocked / SIM free HTC One are also treated with Android 4.4 KitKat.
Android 4.4 KitKat update w/Sense 5.5 rolling out now to #HTCOne Developer Edition users. Enjoy!
