There’s been chatter for a while now that ZTE were going to be releasing a new Android smartphone, now it’s no longer a rumour as the Chinese manufacturer has just officially announced the ZTE Nubia Z5S and also the Nubia Z5S mini to accompany it.
The larger of the two devices, ZTE Nubia Z5S will be available in 3G and LTE flavours and comes rocking a 5 inch full HD display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, as well as that you’ll also get a Quad Core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and 2GB of RAM to keep everything ticking over nicely. You also have the choice of 16GB or 32GB versions.
Round back, you’ll find a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, one of the few phones available to have that feature, the device is also capable of shooting video in 4K Ultra High Definition. If all that wasn’t enough to wet your proverbial whistle, then you’ll be pleased to know that on the front of the device is a 5 megapixel front facing camera. Perfect for video calls.
On the Nubia Z5S’ smaller brother the Z5S mini, you’ll find a more modest, but still impressive 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. As well as its bigger sibling it comes packing 2GB of RAM, has a 13 megapixel back facing and 5 megapixel front facing camera and is available in a choice of 16GB or 32GB.
Both phones will be available on the Chinese market: ZTE Nubia Z5S for $328 the 3G model, $567 the 4G LTE, while ZTE Nubia Z5S mini price tag starts at $246 for the 3G model, $348 4G LTE variant.
