12 months is a lifetime in the world of smartphones, but HTC is showing it hasn’t forgotten about the HTC one SV, launched in November 2012 it was stuck on Jelly bean 4.1 and the now outdated Sense UI 4. So, users of the device will be delighted to know this week it’s being updated to both Android’s Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and HTC’s own Sense UI 5.0.
We first heard whispers of this update all the way back in June, and now it’s official with one twitter user even tweeting a screen shot of the system update on their phone. This is a pretty big update (430MB) so it’s definitely recommended you hook up to a wifi network before downloading it. This has got other users of HTC’s older and cheaper handsets wondering if they’ll get the same treatment, there’s no word yet but, definitely keep checking back and you might be pleasantly surprised.
