ARCHOS have just revealed new range of Platinum series tablets. Three in number, these new tablets have various differences between them, but also some common features across board.The ARCHOS 97b Platinum HD, ARCHOS 101 Platinum and the ARCHOS 80b Platinum, all range from 8-inches, 9.7-inches to 10.1-inches in screen size.
All three of them come equipped with a 1.6GHz quad-core processors, dual-band WiFi, 8GB built-in storage, Bluetooth, high-resolution IPS displays and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The normal Google Apps such as Google Play come bundled in as well. Of the three tablets, the ARCHOS 97b Platinum HD has the best specifications, having a 9.7 inch 2048 x 1536 IPS display, with 2GB of RAM to back up the quad-core Cortex-A9 based processor which is clocked at 1.6GHz.
The 101 Platinum has a lower resolution, 1280 x 800 pixels, though being bigger in size,(10.1 inches). It also packs 2 GB of RAM and a 2 MP back camera same as the ARCHOS 97b. The front camera is 0.3MP camera unlike the 97b, which has a 2 MP front camera.
The last but not least, well, if you consider screen size, is the ARCHOS 80b Platinum, which has an 8 inch 1024 x 768 IPS display backed up by 1 GB of RAM. Camera wise, it has a 2 MP shooter on the back and a 0.3MP on the front.
As for pricing, per-orders are starting at $299 for the 97b Platinum from Adorama.com and $199 for the 80b Platinum, while the 101 Platinum goes for $269.99 pre-order prices at J&R. How do they measure up to the other tablets being introduced to the markets by other OEM’s? Only time and sales records will tell.
