Samsung has been detailing its security solutions when it announced the Galaxy S4 months ago. Enterprise users were promised KNOX – A mobile security solution that consistently secured the platform with advanced device management.
KNOX integrates with Android’s framework to create a sandbox, a separate isolation execution area for apps.
It happens that regular users will also be able to taste those features, Samsung somehow decided to bundle some KNOX requisite files in the latest Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) update currently rolling out in few countries. The complete changelog remains unavailable at the time of this writing but expect more details in the following days.
The Exynos variant is also scheduled to receive the update in a matter of days if not weeks. The Galaxy S3 and Note 2 are also set to embrace KNOX if their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update next month.
