HTC is about to give birth to two new mid-range smartphones targeting the Asian market, dubbed the HTC 7060 and 7088. The two devices are quite similar to one another, and they inherit the design from the highly successful HTC flagship, the One.
We don’t know what names hide behind the odd device numbers, but we certainly know what’s behind the cases of the HTC 7060 and 7088. They both feature 1,2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5-inch 720p HD display, 8MP back and 2MP front cameras, microSD card slot and Android 4.1.2 Jellybean skinned with Sense 5.
This is where the similarities end, though. The major thing that sets them apart is the dual-SIM capability of the HTC 7088; it supports TD-SCDMA/GSM dual mode. The HTC 7060 lacks that functionality, but it still covers NTT DoCoMo’s GSM and WCDMA bands.
The HTC 7060 will be available in black, white and silver, whereas the 7088 is only confirmed to come in white. We are still waiting for an official statement from HTC to seal the deal for this new devices, as well as to release the pricing and availability details.
