Report: Android 4.4 & Nexus 5 to be unveiled on October 14th, fan render showcases possible looks

google-nexus-logoGoogle is set to unveil the long awaited Nexus 5 & Android 4.4 KitKat on October 14 according to a recent report. But speculation and the rumor mill are already spilling out the beans.

Few days ago we saw a few Nexus 5 shots from FCC fillings and some key hardware specifications but the actual final design remained a mystery. Well it happens that a Redditer going by the name of Vovicon posted a stunning render that depicts the Nexus 5 using currently available FCC shots.

Moreover our friends at AusDroid are reporting that both Android 4.4 and Nexus 5 would be revealed on October 14th.

The features apparently to be delivered in Android 4.4 include :

  • Firmware availability to older phones
  • Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
  • Miracast updates
  • New Gallery Visualisation
  • New APIs regarding animations
  • Change android default blue to other preset palette colours
  • New notification widgets

It worth to note that Android 4.4 will not be a major overhaul to the current Android user experience but do certainly expect minor enhancements!
