Today LG introduced the LG Pad 8.3 tablet, the latest handheld addition to its G Series lineup of premium mobile (portable) devices, which is the first 8 inch tablet featuring a Full HD screen. LG Electronics is slowly expanding its premium G series products after announcing not to long ago, the LG G2 power house smartphone.
“Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG’s premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate.”
LG G Pad 8.3 tablet feature a WUXGA (1920×1200) at 273 ppi (pixels per inch), a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, with 2GB of RAM, 16GB eMMC, a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 4,600 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The LG G Pad 8.3 measures 216.8 x 126.5 and 8.3mm thickness, weighs in at 338 grams and it brings some of the software feature found on the LG G2 smartpone.
User Experience Maximized for a Tablet
The LG G Pad 8.3 offers practical features that provide real-life benefits, such as enhanced multitasking. Thanks to its 8.3-inch Full HD Display, user experience (UX) features unique to the LG G Pad 8.3 are maximized for the large screen:
- Slide Aside enables seamless multitasking by simply “sliding” currently open apps off to the side using a three-finger swipe
- QSlide controls up to three different apps in one window with no interruption, especially convenient on a large screen
- KnockON turns the device on and off by tapping the display twice
The all-new LG G Pad 8.3 tablet will be available globally in either Black or White colors, but only in key markets at first, including North America, Europe and Asia as well as other markets starting in the Q4 of this year.
LG Electronics says that the prices will be announced at launch time.
