The Japanese network operator NTT Docomo has announced today that it is taking reservations for the 7 inch AQUOS PAD SH-08E which will be available in the country starting August 2nd.
AQUOS Pad is a 7 inch dust and waterproof (IPX5 / 7) (IP5X) tablet, powered by Google Android operating system, comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 8.1MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP in front, a 7 inch 1920×1200 (the extra pixels are for the bottom launcher bar) IGZO (WUXGA) display (323 ppi), 2GB of RAM and a 4,200 mAh battery.
Additionally the Aquos Pad comes with Dolby virtual 5.1ch surround sound, NFC, WiFi a/b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, IR blaster,microUSB and it measures in at 10.9 mm thick, weighting 285 grams. Optionally there is a Stylus / Pen SH02 available for 1365 JPY and a Desktop holder SH45 available for 1890 JPY.
The full price of the device is 82,320 JPY (about $840), but NTT Docomo customers will have the option to purchase it on a 24 months payment of 3,430 JPY/month or 12 months period of 6860 JPY / month.
AQUOS Pad unlikely to come to European or US markets.
