nexus 7 2 front clearJust hours before the official release, the new Nexus 7 has been filmed in an unboxing video and then benchmarked. Oh, and it was also put on pre-orders from Best Buy!

The Nexus 7 landed into the hands of an anonymous tipster of Android Police, who has provided them with a full gallery of pictures and an unboxing video, as well as benchmark scores and other valuable informati0n.

Design-wise, the second-gen Nexus 7 is a good-looking tablet. The back panel with the texture was substituted with a smooth, rubbery one like the Nexus 10 has. A 5MP camera is found on the back side, along with two stereo speakers and engraved Asus and Nexus logos.

Thanks to the benchmarks, the already known specs are now confirmed. That includes the 1,5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 1920x1200p display, etc. The benchmark scores are great particularly, making the new Nexus 7 the best performer in its class.

The last bit of info we want to share with you regarding this topic is that Best Buy has put this device on pre-orders. Both 16GB and 32GB versions are available for pre-order prices of $229 and $269 respectively.
