HTC One mini’s leaks continue to drive lots of speculation on its specs and possible release date coming months-off its flagship predecessor HTC One. Few minor similarities can be spotted from the outlook with a little reduction on the general size(about one centimeter short) in comparison to the HTC One. A little similarity on the specs to that of the HTC One comes with it’s 4 megapixel UltraPixel back view camera, that works hand in hand with a 1.6 megapixel front facing camera for video chats, 1GB of RAM and on the plus side it will be based on Android 4.2.2 which is an improvement compared to the 4.1.2 that is upgradable with the HTC One.The smartphone will be powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset with Adreno 305 graphics and with a 720 pixel display confirmed.
In addition the HTC One Mini will include a 320 ppi screen and a micro SD card slot for expansion. A quick comparison to the HTC One S confirms a slightly lower clock rate of the HTC One Mini’s 1.4GHz vs 1.5GHz with the only noticeable positive performance comparison being with the GPU (Adreno 305 vs. 225) and the display resolution of 720p to that of the HTC One S qHD, and probably the Snapdragon 400 CPU is more power efficient. The device also boasts of a 16GB storage of which 12GB will be user-accessible. HTC One mini is also rumored to sport a 1,700 mAh battery and Beats Audio support and if the release date will be as speculated (August) then the Phone will face a challenger Moto X that is set to be released during the same period.
What isn’t clear is if the HTC One Mini will also include active updates as shown on the leaked photos screen with an image of a weather forecast alongside the locked screen’s digital clock similar to the Moto X demo video launched by a private carrier Rogers from Canada yesterday.
