At the beginning of last week the name Droid Ultra popped up on Motorola’s website, confirming in a way the refreshed Droid series (Droid RAZR Ultra, Maxx Ultra, RAZR M Ultra and possibly a Mini Ultra something) that’s about to go official soon. Two new Motorola devices – Motorola XT1080 and XT1030 went through FCC certification as well early last week, which were immediately linked to Droid Ultra.
Verizon’s Motorola Droid Maxx (no Ultra here, can’t say for sure why) showed up on Twitter in a press render the other day and now we’re being treated with a picture of an alleged Droid Ultra (XT1080) prototype via XDA Forums.
The new images reveals a few things (that if it’s for real) like the Motorola logo in the top left corner second by what it looks like an infra-red port (IR TV control), the ear piece and a front-facing camera. We got a narrow bezel and the three physical keys sitting at the bottom of the screen.
Word on the street, Motorola will unveil new devices on July 11th, but whether it will be Moto X, Droid Ultra devices or both in one big event, we cant tell. Thoughts?
