You are already familiar with the Sony Togari thanks to the previous leaks of the said device, and you probably know it’s a monstrous 6,44-inch device. Well, we have new information regarding the device for you: it’s going to be called Sony Xperia ZU and its announcement will probably take place on June 25.
The Xperia ZU will house a 2,3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM, 6,44-inch FullHD display and an 8MP shooter. The camera is a downgrade from the 13MP one found on the current flagship and we guess the reason is shortage of high-resolution sensors. Its design resembles the Xperia Z quite a lot, but besides the looks, the Xperia ZU also shares the adventurous nature of its older brother, which is proven by its IP58 certification, which means it can “swim” in waters 1m deep for up to 30 minutes.
Speaking of the display, it pioneers the new display technology Sony has previously used only on TVs. In addition to that, the Xperia ZU will feature X-Reality Engine, which is an upgraded version of the Bravia Engine 2.
We are really interested in the Xperia ZU. June 25 seems like it’s long away, but the day will come when the world sees the next king of the supersized smartphone market segment.
