The latest statistics from Google show Jelly Bean gaining a significant portion of the Android pie, snatching more share from the obsolete Android 2.3 Gingerbread which still accounts for 36.5% of the userbase.
The gap between the two is finally closing while Android Ice Cream Sandwich begins its steady decline, down by 2%. Gingerbread is still clinging to the throne but it’s only a matter of months before it gets dumped behind the two flavors of Jelly Bean.
We should expect Jelly Bean to lead the landscape by the end of next month as more Android devices are upgraded to Android 4.1.2. Android 4.2.2 is still way behind Android 4.1.2, mainly due to the relatively few amount of devices being released with that version onboard.
