The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195) is set to be unveiled at the upcoming ‘Premier 2013‘ event scheduled to take place in London on June 20. Yet rumors and speculation about its specifications are still coming up, the most recent one from the rumor mill claims that the little beast will feature a Qualcomm 400 SoC instead of Exynos.
As we all know Samsung usually reserves their Exynos SoCs for their flagship products but the recent outrages at Samsung’s fabs forced them to adopt the Snapdragon 600 in their latest Galaxy. We shall also see them using the Qualcomm chips in their midrange devices as well and it appears that the Galaxy S4 mini shall be no exclusion to that rule. The device was however set to sport an Exynos SoC.
The Snapdragon 400 SoC in the G4 Mini shall pack a dual-core processor clocking at 1.7GHz and the Adreno 305 GPU. As for the device most rumors indicate a 4.3″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 540 x 960, a 8 megapixel camera & Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean without forgetting Samsung’s TouchWiz UX but anything else remains a mystery.
Of course, we could eventually see the Exynos 5210 being used in this smartphone but everything is pointing towards the Qualcomm chip, unless Samsung plans to release two variants featuring two different SoCs. – That however seems unlikely.
