NVIDIA Shield Available for Pre-Order from May 20, Ships Late June (video)

nvidia shieldWe haven’t heard about the NVIDIA Shield (it’s not “Project Shield” anymore) for a long time, mainly due to NVIDIA keeping the finalization of the device quiet. But don’t despair, as we have great news for you – NVIDIA is launching the pre-orders for the Shield on May 20 in USA and Canada, which will start shipping in late June.

The Shield could be pre-ordered for $349, and for that money you get a nifty handheld gaming device that packs a 5-inch 720p display, NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor clocked at 1,9GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and the latest Android version, a.k.a. Jellybean 4.2. We mustn’t forget the two pre-loaded games that come with the device: Sonic 4 Episode II THD and Expendables: Rearmed. Optionally, you can opt for a carbon fiber back lid or a glossy black one for $19.99 each, if you don’t mind the silver one that comes with the device, that is.
