Samsung is already readying its first fully fledged camera phone according to the latest rumor, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is said to be the first Samsung smartphone to sport a 16Mp shooter onboard!
Inside out the handset will reportedly pack rather midrange specifications judging by the mention of a 4.3 inch qHD SAMOLED display and the including of only 8GB of storage. Aside that the device will also include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and A-GPS and a MicroSD slot accepting up to 64GB. On the software the latest flavor of Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2) runs the show along with Samsung’s own ‘S-Apps’ & services.
The internals of the camera phone aren’t yet finalized yet but we expect either a quad or octa core ticking under the hood. It’ll be logical to assume that the SoC might well be something around the Exynos 5 Octa/Exynos 5210.
Samsung’s entry into the camera phone industry might send shock waves throughout the Android ecosystem, once again triggering a new type of smartphone never seen in the Android world before, let’s not forget the Galaxy Note which started a whole ‘phablet’ revolution despite the critics from tech pundits.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom will make its way into stores around June or July 2013 in black and white color variants.
