The Korea Times has recently confirmed that LG will indeed be manufacturing the next Nexus phone. The Korean website reports that “the consumer electronics arm of LG Group is working with Internet-giant Google to make another Nexus-branded Google Android smartphone.”
The Nexus 4 smartphone made by LG in collaboration with Google proved to be a huge success, due to its impressive specs and affordable price tag despite its relatively low internal storage. Numerous previous rumors made the rounds regarding the purported Nexus 5, and many speculated that LG will be the chosen one to make the next Nexus a hit.
We might see a larger beefier Nexus pop this year itself if this report turns out to be true! Speculation also hinted that a new ‘Nexus 5‘ might be unveiled at Google I/O along with the long rumored Android 4.3 Jelly Bean but it’s more reasonable to assume that Google is prepping a refreshed Nexus 4 with fully fledged LTE capabilities & 32GB of storage.
We shall nevertheless get a glimpse of what awaits us in a few weeks during the events of Google I/O!
