This week in Beijing, takes places Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2013 at the China National Convention Center, where ZTE has introduced its first smartphone powered by Intel’s new 32nm Clover Trail+ processor.
ZTE Geek as it is called, follows-up in the footsteps of ZTE Grand X In (top photo), it has a 5-inch HD screen with resolution of up to 1280×720, comes with an Intel Atom Z2580 CPU clocked at 2GHz which is twice more powerful than the previous Intel processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB built-in storage, 8MP rear-facing shooter, 1MP in front, a 2300mAh battery and it runs Google Android 4.1 JellyBean operating system.
“Our recent collaboration with Intel on the ZTE GEEK builds off of the success of the Grand Series and further enhances our competitiveness in the high-end smartphone market,” said ZTE EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division Mr. He Shiyou. “This partnership also will improve customer experiences by providing them with more choices in the market.”
This shows ZTE’s 2011 shift towards high-end devices.
