AT&T’s Galaxy S II Skyrocket gets Android 4.1.2 update



Samsung is catching up on things lately, rolling out updates for several of its devices world-wide, and one of the new one’s is AT&T’s Galaxy S II Skyrocket. The old fellow Samsung SGH-i727 is sticking its head into the JellyBean jar.

The software update is apparently available only through Samsung Kies software which you can download it from here for both Windows and Mac. We can not confirm if it is available OTA (over the air), but please do let us know if you’re getting it wirelessly.

Besides upgrading te OS from Ice Cream Sandwich to JellyBean here’s what else is new in this major upgrade:

  • Google Now with enhanced voice activation
  • Adds Browser bar, Drive Mode, ATT Locker, Mobile Hot Spot, Featured Apps widget as preloaded applications
  • Removes Qik and MSpot applications
  • Improved Call Quality
