Why we believe the alleged Samsung GALAXY 3 Plus images are fake

Samsung Electronics has diversified its smartphone and tablet portfolio adding new range of Galaxy devices in 2013, like the Galaxy Note 8.0 (8 inch), Galaxy S4 (5 inch), plus a few other unannounced devices like the Galaxy Note 3 (5.9 inch display ) and Galaxy Tab 3 series both of which likely to arrive by this fall.

A couple of photos published earlier, today by SamMobile show a purported Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Plus tablet that looks awfully similar with the Galaxy Note 8.0 but with landscape aligned capacitive keys, Samsung logo and front-facing camera, plus proximity sensor.

SamMobile source also throws in a new name “Galaxy S Tab” and a list of hardware specifications as follows:

– Samsung Exynos 5410 Octa CPU
– 4 x (1.6GHz ARM-Cortex A15) 4 x (1.2GHz ARM-Cortex A7)
– Imagination Power SGX 544MP3 GPU
– 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB and 64GB Models
– MicroSD card storage expansion (up to 64B)
– 9000 mAh standard li-ion battery
– 10.055″ 2560×1600 display – 300PPI
– Could be PLS LCD or Super AMOLED ‘PENTILE’
– 8 Megapixel camera with AF
– 1080p Video@30fps
– 2 megapixel front facing camera with AF
– 1080p Video@30fps
– IR Blaster

We found it hard to swallow that these images are real, reason why, we did a quick test to see how hard it is to fake a Galaxy Note 8.0 press image into a Galaxy Tab 3 render. This is what we came up with after less than 10 minutes using only Windows default Paint software.

What do you think?
