Alcatel announces flagship One Touch Idol X

We used to know Alcatel for their budget low end device but they’re now introducing very capable and modern smartphones based on the very latest Android versions.

One such device is their newly announced One Touch Idol X which features a brilliant 5-inch 080p display like much of those new smartphones out there. Ir comes preloaded with a stock-like version of Android 4.2.1 and is powered by quad core beast clocked at 1.2GHz of unknown breed (for now). In addition it features 16 GB of internal storage and a 2,000 mAh battery, a 8MP or 13MP camera is located on the phone’s rear, joined by a front-facing 2.1-megapixel snapper. The camera‘s megapixel count will vary depending on the market where it is released but the device will be available in four colors; orange, red, yellow and blue. The device itself is sleek and thin, measuring just 7.1mm thin. U.S users will be disappointed because the device will not include LTE connectivity. A MicroSD slot is included for expansion up to 32GB

The One Touch Idol X runs Kernel 3.4.5 and features almost no custom theming though the launcher icons were a bit ’rounded’. Pricing and availability have not been revealed but Alcatel is aiming high on this one.
