Acer and Intel announce Acer Liquid C1

Acer and Intel are working together on bringing you the Acer Liquid C1, a midrange phone with a $333/€250 price tag. It features a 4.3 inch qHD IPS screen with a 960 x 540 resolution, 1.2Ghz Dual-Core Intel Atom processor, 4Gb internal memory expandable with micro SD, 8MP rear cam and 0.3MP front cam, Bluetooth 2.1, a 2000mAh battery and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

“Acer, together with Intel, is making exciting history for the smartphone market. Today we are introducing Acer Liquid C1 with Intel Inside® — the first of its kind in Asia Pacific. Acer Liquid C1 marks a successful milestone and proves that the smartphone is a small form factor of computing device which requires expertise from leading technology companies who truly understand and lead in innovation. Intel introduced the Intel® Atom™ processor Z2420 (code-named Lexington) at CES early this month. Today Acer is the first to introduce a product based on this new technology in this region,” said Mr. Alan Chiang, General Manager, Acer Computer Co.

The Liquid C1 will be available in black and white. This phone is mainly targeting emerging markets, and will be available in Thailand soon. There is no information yet if this phone will come to other parts of the world.
