Next generation Asus Nexus 7 said to pack a full HD display, rumored to launch at Google I/O in May

We’re in an era of smartphones & tables having full 1080p HD displays, even better than that; the Nexus 10 which already sports a display of 2560 x 1600 pixels, it was also the first Android tablet on the market to feature such a stunning display but Google and Asus are not yet done with us, rumor says that a new variant of the Nexus 7 would be introduced with  a full 1080p display panel.

The beefed up ‘New Nexus 7’ reportedly packs a 1920 x 1080 display and a thinner bezel. It should be a slight upgrade over the current Nexus 7. Specifications and the Android version are expected to the remain the same but Google may still surprise us, what if that little beast comes with the Nvidia Tegra 4?

Hopefully prices should be similar to the current Nexus 7, i.e $199 for the 8GB version, $249 for the 16GB one, and $299 for the 32GB version. Sources close to the shipments also indicate that the total Nexus 7 units will break through the 6 million ceiling, moreover 10 million units are expected to be sold by the end of this year! Quite stunning for a tablet like this especially when the demand is so high.
