The epic quad-core battle is currently being fought between various flagship devices having quad core SoCs like the Exynos 4412 and Snapdragon S4 but here comes the MediaQ M31, a fully fledged Android-based media player.
The set-top box features a HiSilicon K3V2 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core chip with Vivante GC4000 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of storage without forgetting a MicroSD card slot. It natively supports 1080p playback and features two USB2.0 ports for external storage, SPDIF audio support,a 3.5mm audio jack and HDMI support. It includes both 802.11n WiFI and Bluetooth 4.0 and runs on a customized version of Android with a custom launcher on-top of the system.
The MediaQ M31 will be priced at around $80 USD and Huawei will even introduced a beefed up version called the MedaiQ M810 with 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, an ethernet port, a TV tuner, and even hard disk drive bays.
