Chinese tablet maker Onda has released an 9.7 inch tablet that is to be the first tablet with the AllWinner Quad Core A7 processor. The Allwinner A31 chip is based on the ARM Cortex A7. The Onda V972 has some other fine specs: 2 GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 8000 mAh battery. It also comes with 2048 x 1536 Retina IPS display (with a 264 PPI) and the Apple iPhone 4 OV camera “to ensure consumers a nice experience.” Despite of the camera, the tablet will run Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, with support to an Android 4.2 update.
Onda has the V972 listed for $239.90, which is a ridiculous €184.22. With these specs and price, the V972 will be able to compete with some other established tablets on the market. It is expected to come available mid-December.
