Amazon‘s top-end tablet, the Kindle Fire HD 8.9, has finally begun shipping abroad. It’s available for $299, and for that money you get an 8,9 inch FullHD 1200p display, a beefy dual-core CPU, and the huge Amazon ecosystem, which offers everything from apps and games to magazines and newsletters. The device runs on Amazon‘s heavily-customized version of Android, which has very little in common with the base operating system.
The 4G version of the tablet is expected to ship on November 20th, starting at $499. AT&T will hold this particular model, and will offer more contract deals.
