CyanogenMod, the leading custom ROM available to many devices, has received a ‘stable’ release. The CyanogenMod 10 Stable is available for a handful of devices, including the Verizon and Sprint variants of the Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Optimus Black, Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, Samsung Galaxy S, etc. More devices are getting the stable build as we speak, as CyanogenMod developers target every supported device to receive the stable build of the latest CyanogenMod iteration.
There was also a word said about the future of CyanogenMod. The next release of the custom ROM will hold the version number 10.1, and will be based on Android 4.2 Jellybean. The reason why the developers went for this option is probably because Android 4.2 is a very minor upgrade on Android 4.1. It’s yet to be decided which features will be removed or preserved in the next release of CM.
