It wasn’t long since Acer introduced their latest addition to their Iconia series but a new member appeared bearing the ‘A220’ codename was recently spotted with preliminary specifications.
According to the GL Benchmark database the new tablet sports a quad core Tegra 3 SoC which operates at a maximum clock speed of 1.3GHz which may seem a bit lowly compared to other Tegra 3 variants but we’re guessing that Acer may want to conserve more battery life. The tablet will likely be the successor to the popular A210 with a larger battery, but it won’t be a completely new tablet as the latter sports more or less the same hardware specifications notably the same Tegra 3 SoC
The native resolution is said to be 1280×800 pixels. Last but not least, it appears that the tablet will run Android 4.1.2 out of the box. No further details were leaked but our guess is that tablet will feature a 10.1 inch screen size.
Acer may be looking to refresh their current lineup by introducing new Android 4.1 models next year.
