Google explores the Grand Canyon using Trekkers

Just five days away of a Google event everyone’s looking forward to, no news seems possibly to be unveiled any more. We all know about the Nexus 4, the Nexus 7 3G, the Nexus 7 32GB and well, hopefully a 10 inch Nexus tablet by Samsung.

Well, this is still news: Google keeps exploring our planet. Demonstrating the rocky and plugged paths Google travels to make Google Maps even more complete, Google has been using the Trekker. That’s not a vehicle. It’s a mobile, wearable backpack with the 360-degree cameras on top. The operator of a Trekker, that automatically gathers photos, uses an Android phone to control. That’s amazing. After Google has gathered all the photos, the views will soon be live on Google Maps. Soon. On PC and mobile device. Look, there’s a lot more to expect in real images rather than expectantly being focused on surreal images of a Nexus 4.
