Remember the release of the Asus Padfone? That beautiful phone that could be put in a dock, that actually is a tablet? I could only imagine holding that phone. That big brown device, well designed, very stylish, and put it under the hood of the station, as Asus calls it, and then having a tablet. Since, it has been silent, till this week.
On October 16, Asus will release the Padfone 2. The idea still sounds brilliant, and has been taken to a higher level. There’s no hood anymore, you simply put the phone in the back of the station. The tablet and the phone now form a better unity, according to Asus, being lighter and thinner. And that’s important for customers wanting slim devices.
Detailed specs have been unveiled a while ago in one of PocketDroid reports, expect a larger phone with a 4.7 inch IPS+ HD screen, Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5GHz and a 13 MP camera.
In all the rumoring days, concentrating on Apple, Samsung and Google’s Nexus, one would easily forget about the Asus Padfone. On to October 16 and it will be available immediately after the event is over.
