Japanese operator SoftBank in talks to acquire Sprint Nextel


Japanese Nikkei publication reports that the countries third biggest network operator is in talks to purchase Sprint carrier in the US for a total sum around 1.5 trillion Yen (about 20 billion dollars).

According to Nikkei, SoftBank is looking to purchase two-thirds of Sprint’s market shares. SoftBank is one of the fastest growing carriers in the country, recently (October 2) acquiring Japan’s 4th largest carrier eAccess (E-Mobile) for 180 billion yen (about 2.3 billion dollars).
