The iPod era is quietly going behind the scenes, but Samsung on the other hand, is betting high on high-quality music players mixed along with traditional smartphone capabilities. The result: Samsung Galaxy Music!
The Galaxy Music is an affordable smartphone, combined with high-end music functionality specially crafted for those hard-core music lovers and for all of us who enjoy listening to music overall. On the unveiling event today, Samsung has claimed that this device is powered by a powerful processor in order to ensure optimal multimedia performance. The more interesting things, on the other hand, are the dual speakers on the front that grant stereo sound quality. There’s also the SRS Premium Sound enhancements as well as the FM Radio functionality.
The display is not the main feature here and we can tell that by looking at its size and resolution. It measures only 3 inches at the rather low screen resolution of 240 * 320 pixels. Even HVGA resolution is low by today’s standards, not to mention QVGA, whose prime time was in the long-gone 2006. On the back, we found the 3 mp shooter that should be more than enough, considering the fact that this phone is meant for listening to music.
The Galaxy Music will run on Android 4.0 ICS on top, which should be more than enough for this type of devices. There’s also the familiar TouchWiz Nature UX interface that resembles the looks of the mighty flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S3.
The price is still unknown, but we expect it to range around 100 to 150 euros.
