At the annual Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) trade show in Japan, NEC proposed the worlds lightest and thinnest 7 inch Android tablet today. The Medias Tab UL N08-D as it is called by the Japanese manufacturer NEC weighs only 249 grams at its 7.9 mm thinnes. The Medias Tab UL coating is a mix between metal, plastic and fiber giving it a high-quality standard.
The tablet comes with a 7 inch LCD screen, sporting 1280 x 800p resolution and runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. In addition it is powered by Qualcomm‘s dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM, 8MP camera in the back (which I think it’s another premier for a 7 inch tablet), 2MP camera in front, it has a 3100 mAh battery, USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS and LTE connectivity.
The NEC Medias Tab UL is already available in Silky White color in Japan since the end of September via NTT Docomo for 15,000 yen (about $190 USD).
