LG entered the upper-5 inch smartphone competition with its Galaxy Note competitor, the Optimus Vu. And while it just hit the global market, it looks like that LG is looking forward to launch a successor to the 5 inch ‘phablet’ in the near future. This information comes from a leak all courtesy of the Korean site Bad IT tong. We have a specs sheet that suggests the device will be called Optimus Vu II, and will feature an 1,5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, will run Android Ice Cream Sandwich and will have a slightly bigger battery than its predecessor. Everything else will be identical to the original Optimus Vu, including the same 5 inch display of 1024×768 resolution.
Comparing it to the Galaxy Note 2, the Optimus Vu II fails to impress, but still, it’s a decently powerful smartphone for today’s high-end standards. We don’t expect to crush the Galaxy Note 2, but if it has an acceptable price tag, it should leave a mark on its competitor‘s sales.
