Intel Successfully Finishes Porting Android 4.1 Jellybean

Intel entered the Android realm just recently, with its Intel Atom ‘Medfield’ processor intended for smartphones. As it’s an x86 processor, and Android is designed for ARM, the engineers have needed to port Android to the x86 architecture, in order everything to work as it should. And they have done a great job so far. They have successfully ported Android 2.3 and 4.0, and today we heard that Android 4.1 Jellybean is also done too! This opens the gate for new updates for smartphones running on an Intel chip.

We don’t know when the current devices running Intel will be updated to the latest Android version, but at least we know they will be treated with Jellybeans. It’s better than nothing, right?
