Mockup of Sony Xperia UX Emerges, Reminds of Good Old Xperia X1

A 3DS Max designer that goes by the name reeflotz has spent some quality time at the making of a new Sony Xperia Concept, which he called Sony Xperia UX. The design itself represents a mixture of the very first Xperia, the X1 and Sony’s NXT lineup that’s currently out.

In his vision the concept device comes with a full QWERTY keyboard that surely looks comfortable to use and the big screen, accompanied with an earpiece and a front-facing camera. There are no buttons in the front whatsoever. The back, on the other hand, is a completely different story. The first thing we’ve noticed is that giant 16.1 megapixel camera with a xenon flash and lens cover. There’s also the speaker and the XPERIA logo lying next to it. On the left side of the device, there’s the microUSB slot as well as the microSD card slot. One interesting thing is that small LCD panel, whose function is to deliver notifications and media playback info. On the right there are the volume keys and the camera key. On the bottom we could only find the 3.5 mm headset jack and a thing supposed to be a slot for the stylus. Yes, this device will also have a stylus, which can be also seen on the given image above. The OS of choice is, of course, Android with Sony’s custom skin on top of it. However, there are no software nor hardware buttons at the front, but given that this is only a mockup, it’s completely understandable.

We quite like this concept. We doubt it will ever be put into consideration by Sony, but it’s a nice looking handset that will earn many Sony fans’ respect. Way to go, reeflotz!
