The original HTC Flyer isn’t what we normally call a very successful or groundbreaking tablet, that’s why HTC is short on tablets. But it has another trick up its sleeve, and it’s called HTC Flyer 2. As the name suggests, it will be the second generation of the 7 inch tablet, upgraded to match today’s standards. And boy, it really stands out from the competition – it’s built around an aluminium anodized body, just like the HTC One S, which we really love. HTC managed to compress it to 7,1mm, which makes it one of the thinnest tablets around.
Specs-wise, it touts a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, probably dual-core, a 7 inch display with resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, 3MP rear-facing and 1MP front-facing camera, all running on Android 4.1 Jellybean.
HTC is probably going to make this one affordable, considering the fact that it will have serious competition to outmatch both by price and features (read: Nexus 7, Kindle Fire 2). We would like to see that.
The day when it’s officially announced is probably going to be September 19th, and should be announced along with the mysterious 5 inch phone we’ve been hearing so much about in the past weeks. We already marked our calendars, and we suggest you do that too, as it will surely be an interesting day.
