LG Mobile has revealed on its domestic market this morning a brand new LG L-style series device called – LG Optimus L9 a smartphone that packs a large 4.7-inch IPS LCD display.
It is an LTE phone that weighs 125g, powered by a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor with 1GB of RAM, 4GB on-board storage, 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2,100 mAh battery. LG Optimus L9 runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich comes pre-loaded with LG’s Quick Notes, Q Translator an app that uses the camera to scan and translate from 44 languages, using what LG calls OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. For example when travelling to foreign countries and you can’t understand written signs with the use of L9’s camera you and Q translator you are able to accomplish a quick and easy translation.
Another interesting feature is the adoption of a metallic border on its edges that makes the phone look thinner at its 9.1mm thick and more stylish. The back cover also comes with some extra grip enhancements for a comfortable hold in hand.
LG Optimus L9 will launch globally (Europe, North America, Asia, Latin America) in September this year. Price details are undisclosed for now.
