LG confirmed that Optimus 2X is getting ICS. In our words:

The LG Optimus 2X was the first dual-core phone ever released. It initially came withAndroid 2.2 and received a Gingerbread update after a long period of time. It was supposed to receive ICS as well, LG themselves have put it on the list. Samsung Galaxy R got updated to ICS. Here’s a cut from the article:

The wait is over guys! Those of you who own a Galaxy R and thought they will be stuck on Gingerbread for the rest of your lives, rejoice! Samsung started pushing the Ice Cream Sandwichupdate to Galaxy R smartphones in Sweden. One lucky XDA Member, known as Machram was lucky enough to receive his phone back from service pre-loaded withICS. We also got a word that the update is spreading through Kies and OTA, so it won’t be long before every user gets his/her hands on the update.

We saw a leaked Samsung Galaxy Player successor. Here’s a paragraph from the article:

It’s going to be an exciting night at this year’s IFA event in Berlin. Among other mentioneddevices, a Samsung product, named YP-GP1 has got our attention. It’s supposed to be the new Galaxy Player, which will certainly give the Samsung’s lineup of premium media players a big refresh. The design philosophy resembles the current flagship: the all mightyGalaxy S3, featuring those familiar round corners. It will pack a huge 5.8 inch screen of qHD resolution. Black and white flavors

Asus Transformer Pad received an official Jellybean update. Here are some of our impressions:

An OTA (over-the-air ) update for the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 that brings the newest Android version 4.1.1 Jelly Bean has started its roll out today with a warning that Adobe Flash Player and Wi-fi Direct are no longer working. It’s always great to see an OEMrelease an update in a relatively short amount of time instead of the long waits most of us are used to. Full article
