An OTA (over-the-air ) update for the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 that brings the newest Android version 4.1.1 Jelly Bean has started its roll out today with a warning that Adobe Flash Player and Wi-fi Direct are no longer working. It’s always great to see an OEM release an update in a relatively short amount of time instead of the long waits most of us are used to.

Here’s the official announcement posted by Asus on its official Facebook page:

“Dear Valued ASUS Customers,

We are pleased to announce that we will be rolling out a major software update for the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300, which will bring Android™ 4.1, Jelly Bean to the device for the first time in North America. In

addition to this being the first of our planned Jelly Bean updates for the Transformer Series, we have also added a range of new features, including new power saving options, global file search and several improvements to the pre-installed apps.We will announce Jelly Bean update plans for other Transformer Pad Series devices in the near future, so stay tuned.

Thank you for your continued support.

  1. ASUS SHOULD HAVE WARNED IT’S CUSTOMERS OF THEIR UNDERHANDED SNEAKY MOVE TO SELL TF300T WITH ICS 4.0.3 ON AND VERSION 11 FLASH AND IT WON’T WORK, I KNEW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE IPAD FOR ME, I HAVE HAD IT 2 WEEKS AND I’LL TAKE IT BACK IF THEY DON’T SORT ASAP AS I HAVE HAD IT TWO WEEKS AND I REMOVED THE PRE-INSTALLED CRAPPY BROWSER THEY HAD PUT ON IT. QUITE A NASTY TRICK TO PULL ASUS WHEN THE NEXUS HAS JUST REARED IT’S UGLY HEAD, WHAT?
